    Sectors

    The exterior and evaporator units are separate, making it easy to install in different configurations depending on the available space. The compressor-condenser unit can be installed on a wall in a horizontal position or flat on a hood. The evaporator is located in the cabin.

    The SKIMO SPLIT Plus is particularly suitable for cabins on the following vehicles:

    • Electric forklifts
    • Industrial trucks
    • Electric commercial vehicles
    • Handling vehicles
    • All types of battery-power machines or vehicles up to 100 V.

    Compact Solution

    Because of their compact size, the evaporator (in the cabin) and the compressor-condenser unit (outside) can be easily installed in different configurations depending on the available space.

    Installation Options

    The compressor-condenser system can be installed horizontally on a wall or in a flat position on a hood.

    SKIMO SPLIT Plus Performance

    Performance Tests

    Before being placed on the market, the SKIMO SPLIT Plus system was subject to numerous performance tests in the toughest operating conditions in our specialist test centre.

    Test Conditions

    The SNDC test centre reproduces outdoor temperature and sunlight conditions. The SKIMO SPLIT Plus has been tested at 2 temperature levels in a 2.5 m3 cabin:

    • An outside temperature of 38 °C for 60 minutes.
    • An outside temperature of 43 °C for 60 minutes.

    The SKIMO SPLIT system was not started until the temperature inside the chamber had stabilised. During the test, the cabin was exposed to average solar energy equivalent to 800 W/m2, measured by pyranometer. The air conditioning system was connected to a 12-volt DC supply.

    Readings

    The readings were recorded by a datalogger equipped with calibrated ambient probes with a PT100 thermocouple, providing accuracy of +/- 0.1 °C.

    Performance at + 38 °C

    5 minutes after starting: the temperature of the air from the air diffusers was 14.1 °C for a cabin temperature of 32 °C.
    1 hour after starting: the temperature of the air diffusers was 6.3 °C for a cabin temperature of 25.4 °C. The difference in temperature between the test chamber and the cabin interior was 12.7 °C.

    Performance at + 43 °C

    5 minutes after starting: the temperature of the air diffusers was 17.5 °C for a cabin temperature of 35.4 °C.
    1 hour after starting: the temperature of the air diffusers was 9.9 °C for a cabin temperature of 29.8 °C. The temperature difference between the test chamber and the cabin interior was 13.6 °C.

    SKIMO SPLIT Plus Reliability

    Endurance Tests

    Before being placed on the market, the SKIMO SPLIT Plus was subject to numerous longevity tests in different simulated usage conditions.

    The wear of the SKIMO SPLIT Plus was analysed and monitored during tests in a climatic chamber simulating sudden changes of temperature.

    Production Tests

    During the production process, 100% of our SKIMO SPLIT Plus units are tested on an automated test rig.
    All SKIMO SPLIT Plus systems are subject to rigorous testing on an automated test rig.

    Warranty

    The SKIMO comes with a warranty for 2 years or 2,000 hours. This warranty does not cover consumables, normal wear and tear or damage caused by incorrect usage or operation in unsuitable conditions, including:

    • Usage in an abnormally humid environment
    • Usage in a highly saline environment
    • Usage in a highly acidic environment
    • High-pressure cleaning or use of detergents
