    The SKIMO is the ideal solution for vehicles in which the engine configuration does not allow the installation of a traditional air conditioning system with an engine-driven compressor.

    The SKIMO is particularly suitable for cabins on the following vehicles:

    Simple Installation

    The SKIMO is delivered pre-charged with R134a or R1234yf refrigerant. The SKIMO can be installed and commissioned by a professional in a very short space of time.

    Installation in 5 simple steps

    1. Position the cut-out template provided on the roof
    2. Cut and drill the roof according to the template
    3. Apply the silicone sealant
    4. Install the SKIMO unit
    5. Connect the electrical supply




    A surface area of just 40 x 30 cm is required to install the SKIMO.

    The reinforced structure makes it possible to install the SKIMO with an overhang. In this case, the unit should not overhang by more than 25 cm.

    Installation conditions

    • Insulation: wall and bottom protected from sources of heat (e.g, engine or exhaust)
    • Roof: rigid material capable of supporting 25 kg

    SKIMO Performance

    Performance Tests

    Before being placed on the market, the SKIMO was subjected to numerous performance tests in our test centre in the most extreme usage conditions.

    Test Conditions

    The SNDC test room reproduced outside temperature and sunlight conditions at 3 different levels for a cabin of 2.5 m3 :

    • Level 1: 31 °C for 60 minutes
    • Level 2: 41 °C for 180 minutes
    • Level 3: 44 °C for 60 minutes

    The SKIMO system was not started until the temperature had stabilised inside the cabin. During these tests, the cabin was exposed to an average simulated solar energy of 800W/m² recorded by pyranometer. The air conditioning system was supplied with 12 Volts DC.


    Readings are taken from a datalogger equipped with calibrated ambient probes with a PT100 thermocouple, providing an accuracy of +/- 0.1°C

    Measured Performance
    • Level 1: at 31 °C external temperature, the interior temperature of the cabin fell rapidly below 25 °C and stabilised at 18 °C.
    • Level 2: at 41 °C external temperature, the interior temperature of the cabin stabilised at 25 °C.
    • Level 3: at 44 °C external temperature, the interior temperature of the cabin stabilised at 27.5 °C.

    SKIMO Reliability

    Endurance Tests

    Having been subjected to sudden temperature changes in climate chambers, the SKIMO has been tested against the most extreme usage conditions in order to guarantee reliability and optimal performance over time.

    Production Tests

    During the production process, 100% of our SKIMO units are tested using an automated test rig.

    All SKIMO units are subject to rigorous testing on an automated test rig.


    The SKIMO comes with a warranty for 2 years or 2,000 hours. This warranty does not cover consumables, normal wear and tear or damage caused by incorrect usage or operation in unsuitable conditions, including:

    • Usage in an abnormally humid environment
    • Usage in a highly saline environment
    • Usage in a highly acidic environment
    • High-pressure cleaning or use of detergents
