€200 to €400 for a “new generation” gas recharge

The first models using HFO-1234yf (which Mercedes considers too dangerous and refuses to use) having been released more than two years ago (C4 Picasso, 308, Zoe, etc.), it was believed that charging stations were going to be the stars at Equip Auto. But it was not to be so…
A few specialist companies presented their new models without going into much detail regarding the cost of recharging: from €200 to €400 depending on the provider. These prices will drop, they claim, but will remain as they are for a good while.
What is the difference with the new refrigerant? It will save the environment and cripple our finances…
